With the aim of gathering families, parents of children and young people to discuss the most important emotional problems of these age groups in modern society, the Faculty of Rio Branco promotes the meeting “mental health of children and youth: challenges and options”, the 04 day of October, day, at 20h at Avenida Higienópolis, 996 – father free and open to the public.
According to data from the World Health Organization (World Health Organization), disorders such as depression, for example, is already considered one of the main causes in the inability to complete the task routine among children and young people aged 10 to 19 years old, and children between 6 and 12 years diagnosed with ADHD also jumped about 4.5% to 8% in the last decade in all over the world.
The conversation will be led by a psychiatrist, Rodrigo Affonseca Bressan, Ph. D. professor of the Paulista School of Medicine, and King’s College in London.

The doctor is the head of the Y-Mind – Institute for the Prevention of mental disorders, where she coordinated a programme of ‘Cox’s legal’ in schools. He is the author of many books, among them “mental health in schools – what educators need to know”. He is the coordinator of research at the National Institute of psychiatry and coordinator of the project contact – the minds of the future and has more than 300 international scientific publications in the area.
During the event, the expert will address topics such as Neuroscience, Brain Development and mental health issues in childhood and adolescence. It will be possible to clarify doubts, reflect on the behaviors and the search for alternative appropriate guidance for more complex issues that arise in the day to families or through news and social networks.
